Sunset Rising

SRNewcover

Sunset Rising is the first book of series.  It is the tale of how a love story can revive the human spirit to rise up and fight the bonds of oppression.

Sunset Rising is thrilling; there is no better word for it. Romance, intrigue, and action all come together beautifully here to create an experience that will leave anyone asking for more.

    • Yes, Nathalia Suellen really captured the essence of the plot in this cover!

I am having a promotion on Sunset Rising for the month of February 2013 to get the word out about this series. For a free copy, go to Smashwords and use coupon code CM85F at the checkout. If you take advantage of this offer, please do let me know what you think of the book 😉

      • Im so excited about the free copy, but i went to smashwords and tried searching your last name, worlds collide and even sunset rising and cant find it. What do i need to do to find it?

      • As soon as i pushed post and reread your post, i realized the promotion is probably for Sunset Rising not early copies of Worlds Collide. But nevertheless i couldnt find sunset rising either…

      • Sorry Ayanna!! I’ll have to edit to reflect it was posted in February 2013. SR is no longer available on Smashwords. Worlds Collide will be published soon!!

  1. I am reading Sunset Rising right now, am 99% done, and absolutely loving it. Had to hop over and signup for your mailing list so I don’t miss it when the next installment is done. Thank you for this awesome read and the cover is so on point and beautiful 🙂

    • So mad! Didn’t realize this is a series so needless to say, the ending caught me totally unaware! Seriously?! Now I’m hooked. January what year is book 2 coming out? Darn it! Really good read.

      • This year!! I already set up a Goodreads page and will soon do the cover reveal (set for Jan 15th… atlhough waiting confirmation). Alongwith the cover reveal, I’ll be hosting a giveaway of advance copies of the ebook! Stay tuned.

  2. I’m on the last chapter…where’s the next book??? LOL! I really enjoyed your book and am awaiting MORE!! Thanks! Congrats, from a fellow Canuck 🙂

    • I always LOVE hear from readers, especially a fellow Canuck! Just taking a break from working on the next book! I have a date with my editor early December… and it still has to get past my beta readers 🙂 So glad you enjoyed the book. Stayed tuned for a cover reveal and excerpts of book 2 in November 🙂

  3. This is amazing book, from the beautiful cover (the best I’ve seen in years) through the gripping storyline. There is no wasted space in the story or overdone scenes. Every part is needed and pertinent to the storyline. A very rare find and I feel blessed to have read it. I read 1-2 novels a day and rarely feel the need to leave a reply. This is my first time but the details and storyline forced me. Thank you for the fantastic story now I’m waiting for the sequel with bated breath!

  4. Thank you so much Christie!! I’m so very flattered! And I would be forever grateful if you share your thoughts on Amazon 🙂 Reviews really help me, especially as a debut author. And it’s support like yours that gives me that boost of confidence to keep writing! Thanks so much for getting in touch.

  5. Just finished Sunset Rising. Spent practically every moment free reading–awesome story! Am eagerly awaiting a sequel…any idea how long my wait will be?

    • Thank you Cheryl! So happy you enjoyed the book 🙂 I’m working night and day to get the sequel, “Worlds Collide” out by the end of January. It’s written, but going through proofreaders right now. It goes to my editor in January. I’ll be hosting a cover reveal and excerpt after the New Year. Thanks for getting in touch!

      • Yay! Looking forward to it very much! If you ever need another proofreader, I am a teacher…just sayin’… 🙂

  6. I just finished this book and I can’t stop thinking about it. I HAVE to see what happens in the next one, I just can’t wait!!

  7. This book is amazing! It is hard to find a book that, when I am unable to read (work & responsibilities ugh!) I am wondering about the characters. Great job!

  8. I am a 59 year old male and an avid reader. I can sheepishly say that I loved the book. I think you need to change the age rating to 16 +++! Great first book and I will definitely read your next one.

  9. Speechless. Okay. WOW! I have never been at a loss for words but I am now going to try to use some in a vain attempt to explain the overwhelming experience I had of being drawn into a novel so quickly and so wonderfully immersed in reading this gem of a book. I could not put your book down. Sunset Rising literally went everywhere i did. I skipped sleep. My computer went cold. I read instead of worked, and being on production pay meant nothing because Sunset Rising was well worth it. I skipped meals. I did not call friends and all calls to me went to voicemail. I skipped the holiday parties, did not play with firecrackers or sparklers or watch fireworks or the ball drop on New Year’s eve or even toast the new year with champagne; all family traditions and all of which did not matter while I was immersed in your engrossing novel and the gamut of emotions which overtook me. My experiences are all I have to try to explain how much I loved reading Sunset Rising and I wholeheartedly apologize for being so self centered about my own experiences and i cannot explain how wonderfully amazing Sunset Rising is. I have never been so privileged to read something where I actually took the time to praise a book and author, but you and Sunset Rising have captured my heart and mind so intensely that I had to tell you I loved and adored Sunset Rising. My words seem so inept compared to the awe I have for your novel. Thank you is not even enough. Nope, I cannot come up with the words to do justice to the sparkling beauty of the diamond which is Sunset Rising.

  10. Thank you everyone!! And Roberta – gosh! I hope you didn’t lose any friends!! LOL!

Book Two, entitled “Worlds Collide” will be released at the end of January. It’s currently with beta readers, then it will go to my editor on Jan 10th. I’m planning a cover reveal in mid-January and a chance to win an advance review copy (ARC) of “Worlds Collide.” Stay tuned!

    • Luckily I have very supportive and understanding friends; no friends were lost while I lost myself in Sunset Rising.

  11. I started the book this morning and was so engrossed that I couldn’t put it down. I just finished and went eagerly searching for Book Two! :). Great writing!!

  12. After reading all the great reviews I must wait till the 2nd book is out before starting #1 book. I read one book per day. Very excited about these books. I’m looking at my book now & it’s taking all my strength not to start reading it right now! Really want the next book out soon. Is this a trilogy or 2 books? Hope not a trilogy because then I would have to wait till they are all out! Linda B.D ( Good Reads)

  13. I adored this book! I as others see that they could not put this book down as well! I’m so excited to read part two! I just have to know what they find in the world. As well as them going in to free everyone from the pit? And my next question would be will the well to do they believe from the dome follow? This book truly brings your imagination to keep turning on what could happen or how. I have added my email to keep up with your blog. I do hope we will not be kept in suspense much longer. You truly have my attention and I’m sitting on the edge of my seat wanting more!! Fabulous Author you have a very vivid imagination and are very good at writing! Please don’t ever get discouraged because it would be a shame to waste so much talent! Thanks again for sharing patiently waiting… yours truly Corva

  14. I just finished your book on Kindle – I wasn’t expecting much, though I’m a Kindle self-published author – there’s just so much badly edited stuff out there. But your story was really great – I’m looking forward to hearing more about Sunny and Jack in the future. 🙂

  15. I LOVED this story!!! Please tell me the second book is almost done. I read this book in about 3 days, all my spare time was devoted to this story.

  16. I just finished this book. I absolutely love it!!! Can’t wait for the next one! I remember touring the Arizona biosphere when I was young and thought about it throughout reading.

  17. Fantastic book!! I was completely pulled in…in fact I didn’t get much sleep a few nights in a row because I was reading Sunset Rising!! I am so excited to read Worlds Collide!

  18. Will you be sending out an email when the second book is available? I’ve been checking your website everyday for it! Lol! I’m just SO excited! 🙂

    • Absolutely! I’ll post it here on my blog and anyone signed up will receive an email. I just sent an email off to my editor hoping to speed up the process a little… we might go over that end of January deadline unfortunately 😦

  19. I can’t wait for the next book. I was so looking forward to the end of January when it was set to release. It’s now February and I check every day to see if it’s been released.

  20. Awesome book! The characters really draw you in. Great job! Waiting anxiously for the worlds to collide 😉 hoping that president and his daughter get what they deserve.

  21. I absolutely loved this book! I could not put it down and can’t wait to read the next one. When is it expected to be out?

      • Hi Ayanna – I did do an ARC giveaway a few weeks ago. I probably should’ve arranged some kind of release-day promotion, but it takes a lot of time to arrange. The past three months have been super crazy busy for me, so I’ve had to do some prioritizing. My main priority is to get the book finished and available for everyone who has written to me, anxious to get their hands on it 🙂

  22. Just finished Sunset Rising last night. Was very much hoping that the next book would be following soon! Any hint as to when it will be released? Thank you so much!

    • I just sent the second pass edit back to the editor tonight. It’s on to the proofreader!! And since I didn’t plan a big release day party, I’ll make the announcement here as soon as it’s available on Amazon. You can follow my blog for the announcement.

  23. Amazon Kindle ebook and read on the Kindle app.

To me, a choice of format is nice, but I cannot always find books for my favorite reader apps, so I get nearly all my books through the Kindle store now and keep them in a single reader for ease of finding.

I found Sunset Rising on Amazon Kindle ebooks with a link on ereadernewstoday.com and got a sample. Within 5 minutes after starting to read it, I purchased the ebook using a convenient link at the end of the Kindle ebook sample and 1-click purchasing. SO easy! Seriously though, format was not going to stop me from reading Sunset Rising and will not stop me from reading Worlds Collide.
